CEO Minho Kim attended a meeting in conjunction with the inauguration ceremony of President Prabowo of Indonesia. The meeting included Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hong-kyun, Acting Ambassador of Indonesia Park Soo-deok, Minister of Investment Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Anindya Bakrie, and Chairperson of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, among others.

Visit by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo

On September 23, 2024, CEO Minho Kim met with Laude M Kamaluddin, the newly appointed presidential advisor of Indonesia, and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo to discuss carbon emissions trading rights.

Launch of IKBOI

The Indonesia-Korea Business Initiative (IKBI) for economic cooperation between Korea and Indonesia has been jointly established by Asian Square, the Smart Industry Promotion Association, Dr. Purba (former senator of Indonesia), and Indonesian lawyer Saudaranta Tarigan. Offices are planned to be set up in Surabaya, Jakarta, and Medan, Indonesia.

2024 I&E Economic Forum Hosted

Asian Square held the Korea-Indonesia Economic Forum on June 19, 2024, at the Korea Press Center, sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The event was attended by the Indonesian Embassy, the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board, members of the National Assembly from both ruling and opposition parties, as well as representatives from LG, the Korea National Railway Authority, Beksan Power, and Indonesian business leaders, making it a successful gathering.

Indonesia Capital Relocation Workshop

On November 9, a workshop on the relocation of Indonesia’s capital was held, hosted by Asian Square and the Smart Industry Promotion Association, with sponsorship from the law firm Geumseong. The workshop featured former Vice Prime Minister Oh Myung as a special guest and was moderated by CEO Minho Kim of Asian Square. Panel presentations were conducted by Secretary-General Park Tae-seo from SIPA, Indonesian lawyer Saudaranta Tarigan from Geumseong Law Firm, and Insyafiah, Director of Funding from the Indonesian National Capital Relocation Agency, along with officials from the Ministry of National Development.

Meeting with President Eom Jong-hwa of Sejong University

CEO Minho Kim held a meeting with Eom Jong-hwa, President of Sejong University, to discuss Sejong University’s global strategy, potential entry into Indonesia, and collaboration with Asian Square and other initiatives.

Asian Square Hosts ASNC International Negotiation Competition

Asian Square hosted the ASNC International Negotiation Competition at the Korea Press Center. After preliminary rounds in Medan, Indonesia in 2023, three teams from Korea (Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Handong University) and three teams from Indonesia competed in the finals. The winning and runner-up teams received prizes of 2 million KRW and 1 million KRW, respectively.

Asian Square Holds International Negotiation Competition in Medan, Indonesia

Asian Square hosted the International Negotiation Competition (Asian Square Negotiation Challenge) and a professional forum in Medan, Indonesia. This event was organized by Seoul Forest Yang Hyun-jae and co-hosted locally by the Medan Korean Center and Geumseong Law Firm.
